You can get overwhelmed quickly, but you’re very clear on what went wrong. On the other hand, ramping up the difficulty level feels fun, rather than frustrating. As a scrub of sorts, I’m happy to stick with the basic challenge level. I appreciate the nuanced difficulty settings. Only the movement commands require the analog sticks to pull off. You can use any buttons you like, so long as you do so on the beat. It’s a tiny dopamine hit accompanied by on-screen sparkle and auditory feedback. There’s something inherently satisfying about hitting those triggers just right. But instead of just passively listening, you’re engaged and enthralled.
